GOVERNMENT DATA REQUEST POLICY
Effective date: September 3, 2026

Island Mobile Detail ("Island Mobile Detail," "we," "our," or "us") respects the privacy of our customers and anyone who communicates with us. This policy explains how we handle requests from law enforcement, regulators, courts, national-security authorities, and other public authorities ("Public Authorities") for personal information in our possession or control, including information received through:

  • islandmobiledetail.net and its chatbot;

  • the Island Mobile Detail Facebook Page and Messenger, including Platform Data received from Meta;

  • our quoting and booking tools; and

  • other customer communications and service records, including information processed for us by service providers such as Botpress and SimplyBook.me.

This policy works alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. As of the effective date above, Island Mobile Detail has not received any government or national-security request for customer personal information.

1. Requests Must Be Valid and Specific

We do not voluntarily provide personal information to Public Authorities for surveillance or any purpose unrelated to a valid legal request. Except in a genuine emergency (Section 6), a request must be in writing and must:

  • identify the requesting authority and responsible official;

  • state the legal authority and jurisdiction supporting the request;

  • identify the person, account, or records sought with reasonable specificity;

  • describe the categories of information requested and the relevant date range; and

  • include any warrant, subpoena, court order, or other required legal process.

Informal, unsupported, excessively broad, or unverifiable requests are not treated as sufficient legal process.

2. Legal Review

Tyler Sass, owner of Island Mobile Detail, is responsible for reviewing every request before any information is disclosed. Review confirms: the requester's identity and authority; that the request is properly addressed to us; that the issuing authority has jurisdiction; that the legal process cited is valid and applicable; that the information sought is within the request's scope; and that disclosure is not otherwise prohibited by law, contract, or privilege. Where a request raises a material legal question, seeks unusually sensitive or broad information, or can't be independently verified, we will seek legal guidance before responding.

3. Challenging Invalid or Overbroad Requests

We will reject, narrow, object to, or otherwise challenge a request when there's a reasonable basis to believe it is unlawful, invalid, improperly served, outside the requesting authority's jurisdiction, excessively broad, vague, or disproportionate. Where appropriate, we will ask the authority to correct the request, obtain valid legal process, reduce its scope, or seek the information directly from the relevant platform. We will not disclose more than a request legally requires simply because it would be convenient to do so.

4. Data Minimization

If disclosure is legally required, we disclose only the minimum information reasonably necessary to comply, and will: limit disclosure to the identified person, records, and date range; exclude information that is unrelated, privileged, or outside scope; redact or filter where appropriate; and use a secure delivery method appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. We do not disclose passwords, access tokens, application secrets, or security credentials unless specifically and lawfully required.

5. Notice to Affected People

Where legally permitted and reasonably practical, we will notify the affected person before disclosing their information so they can seek advice or challenge the request. We may delay or withhold notice where law or legal process prohibits it, where an emergency creates a credible risk of serious harm, or where notice would unlawfully compromise an investigation, and we will reassess any such restriction when appropriate.

6. Emergency Requests

An emergency request must describe a specific, imminent risk of death or serious physical harm and explain why the requested information is necessary to address that risk. We will verify the requester, evaluate the request in good faith, disclose no more than reasonably necessary, and document the request and our response as described in Section 7. An emergency claim does not by itself create access to personal information.

7. Documentation

We maintain a confidential record of every Public Authority request and our response, including the date received; the requesting authority, legal process, and stated legal basis; our legal-validity and data-minimization review; any objection, narrowing, or legal guidance obtained; the decision made and why; what (if anything) was disclosed and how; and any restriction on notifying the affected person. These records are protected from unauthorized access and retained only as long as reasonably necessary.

8. Service Providers and Third-Party Platforms

When responsive information is held by Meta, Botpress, SimplyBook.me, or another service provider rather than by us directly, we may direct the requesting authority to that provider or coordinate with the provider as legally necessary. We will not ask a provider to disclose information beyond what a valid request lawfully and necessarily requires. Requests directed at Meta for Facebook or Messenger account data are handled under Meta's own government-request policies, not by Island Mobile Detail.

9. No Bulk or Backdoor Access

Island Mobile Detail does not provide Public Authorities with direct, continuous, bulk, or secret access to customer systems or personal information, does not build backdoors, and does not disclose information outside a case-specific legal review described in this policy, unless applicable law expressly requires otherwise.

10. Responsibility and Updates

Tyler Sass is responsible for applying this policy and periodically reviewing it as our business, service providers, or applicable law change. We may update this policy when necessary; the effective date above reflects the current version.
